Instructions for Authors

Annals of Endocrine Surgery welcomes original contributions from surgeons, endocrinologists, and allied specialists worldwide. All submissions are subject to editorial screening and peer review. These guidelines apply to all article types unless otherwise stated.

Preparing Your Manuscript

Language and style

Manuscripts must be written in English. Both British and American spelling are acceptable provided usage is consistent throughout. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to seek language editing prior to submission.

File format

Submit manuscripts as Microsoft Word (.docx) files. Figures should be submitted as separate high-resolution image files (TIFF or EPS, minimum 300 DPI). Do not embed figures within the manuscript document.

Structure

Original research and systematic reviews should follow this structure:

  1. Title page (title, authors, affiliations, corresponding author details)
  2. Abstract (structured: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions)
  3. Keywords (3–6 MeSH terms)
  4. Introduction
  5. Methods
  6. Results
  7. Discussion
  8. Conclusions
  9. Declarations (ethics, consent, conflicts of interest, funding, author contributions)
  10. References
  11. Tables and figure legends

References

References should be formatted in Vancouver style, numbered consecutively in the order they appear in the text. Journal names should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus.

Figures and tables

All figures and tables must be cited in the text. Figures require a descriptive legend. Tables should be self-explanatory and should not duplicate data presented in the text.

Statistical reporting

Authors must report exact p-values, confidence intervals, and effect sizes where applicable. Statistical methods must be described in sufficient detail to allow replication.

Ethical Requirements

Ethics approval

All research involving human participants must have received ethics committee or institutional review board approval. The name of the approving body and reference number must be stated in the Methods section.

Informed consent

Authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained from all patients or, where applicable, that consent was waived by the ethics committee. For case reports, written patient consent is mandatory.

CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA

Authors are required to follow and reference the appropriate reporting guidelines: CONSORT for randomised trials, STROBE for observational studies, and PRISMA for systematic reviews and meta-analyses.

Author contributions

All authors must meet the ICMJE criteria for authorship. Author contributions should be stated using CRediT taxonomy (e.g. conceptualisation, data curation, formal analysis, writing — original draft).

Conflicts of interest

All authors must declare any financial or non-financial competing interests. If none exist, this must be explicitly stated. Declarations will be published with the article.

Funding

All funding sources must be declared. The role of the funding body, if any, in study design, data collection, analysis, or manuscript preparation must be stated.

Submission Process

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal's online submission system. Log in or create an account to submit your manuscript to Annals of Endocrine Surgery.
