We welcome submissions from surgeons, endocrinologists, and allied specialists worldwide. All article types are considered, including original research, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, technical innovations, multicentre studies, and case reports of exceptional educational value.
Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Original Research
Prospective/retrospective studies, clinical trials, outcomes data.

Systematic review / meta-analysis
PRISMA-compliant reviews of existing evidence.
Word limit: 5000 words. Structured abstract, 300 words. 60 references.
Technical innovation
Novel surgical techniques, instrumentation, or approaches.
Guidelines: 3000 words. Unstructured abstract, 250 words. 25 references.
Multicentre study
Collaborative data from two or more centres.
Guidelines: 4500 words. Structured abstract, 300 words. 50 references.
Case report
Exceptional educational value only; rare presentations or outcomes.
Guidelines: 1500 words. Unstructured abstract, 150 words. 15 references.
Letter to the Editor
Response to a published article or brief scientific observation.
Guidelines: 500 words. No abstract. 5 references.
